The Magical Life

Chapter 1
My life is like many others, yet a little more magical. Oh, by the way, I’m Stacey Metro, or how I like to call it, magical Stacey. My family and I are wizards. Actually, I can’t tell anyone. I don’t know why. Anyway, I was going to school with my friend, Ann Mickletinne. Ann wouldn’t even look at me! All of a sudden she punched me and laughed. “That sure was funny!” she exclaimed. Ann can be so mean and violent sometimes.
I took my wand out of my backpack and silently chanted a spell, “Ann gets hurt for being hurtful. Make it happen in a bippady-bruffal!” Ann hit the ceiling and fell on the floor. Nobody knew what happened except me, but everyone was cracking up!  “That sure was funny!” I said the same way she had said to me. Ann groaned. I was not sad Ann wouldn’t talk to me because she wasn’t even a good friend. I made a new friend today. Her name is Rachel and she is super nice! I decided to go ahead and tell Rachel about the whole wizard dilemma. After I told her, I kinda’ felt guilty because my mom said I couldn’t tell anybody. The problem is she didn’t believe me!
“Sure” she said sarcastically. “ That’s impossible”. I called Rachel over to hang out and she said she would come. It took her a while to come so I used some magic. “Rachel, oh Rachel you are taking a while. Come on down to Stacey’s pile” The spell was kind of weird, but it
worked. I heard the doorbell ring. When, I opened the door, Rachel looked super mad. “NEVER USE YOUR MAGIC JUST TO MAKE ME COME! I guess you are a wizard.” she said.
“What do you mean a wizard?” my mom asked as she came out of the kitchen. She looked furious.
“You guys are wizards, right?” Rachel asked with a confused look on her face. “That’s what Stacey said. She even used some magic to make me come here.” And I knew I was doomed. I was in big trouble. L My mom grabbed my hand and pulled me into the kitchen.
“Explain why.” she commanded sternly. I didn’t answer her. “I’m waiting!” she said impatiently. I burst into tears.
“She’s s-so nice and m-my new best friend!” Then, I apologized. And I really meant it.

Chapter 2
The next day, I went to wizard school. Normally, I learn some new spells. But today my instructor told me that later I would be in a battle. Not just any battle. It was a battle that depended on me to save the world. Now, you may ask me why they picked ME to do it. Well, everyone else backed out because it is really risky. My parents were thinking to back me out, but I made them let me do it. I wanted to show everyone how brave I was. But I was kind’ a nervous. One of the monsters I had to fight was Ventoride, the strongest monster, who can lift 143,567,008 houses in one hand! And I’m talking about mansions! That’s how large Ventoride is! So I have a reason to be scared. L
I went for the first day of my training. It wasn’t easy. I had 30 monsters coming at me at the same time. I had to kill each one of them with my powerful wand. Well, I killed most of them with my wand. I wrestled the rest. BUT THEY WERE STILL IN PERFECT SHAPE!!!!!
My instructor, Susan Kripinski, said I was failing. I tried to convince her to give me one more chance. She agreed, but she said I had to work extra hard. Then, she told me to go get my parents and to wait on the bench while she talked to them. I really wanted to hear what they were saying, so instead of sitting on the bench, I pressed my ear on the door.
I heard Susan say stuff like “Stacey is doing very badly” and “I am regretting asking her to do this battle”. And I really regretted listening. I mean, I really don’t think I did that badly. I did stop using my wand and started wrestling the monsters, knowing that I could only kill them with my wand. But still.
Susan said I had to come practice every day right after school till the battle. For 3 hours!! And the battle is 3 months away! Susan seemed to be in a bad mood, so without arguing I happily said “SURE!”
I tried out the training for the first time because my parents wanted to see what all the training sessions are going to be like. And guess what?!?! Susan said I was surprisingly good! I killed every one of those nasty looking creatures. It was hard, but fun! It was also really nice to hear Susan say that I did well. Though she did say surprisingly before. I was still proud of myself.
So I trained every day, succeeding in most and failing in a few. Susan said she was proud of my work even though I was confused when she would say “GO LEFT” and “KILL THE MONSTER TO YOUR LEFT BEFORE THE RIGHT”. But then she said something that really killed my mind. She said “But I understand that you have dyslexia.”
Chapter 3
Without saying a thing, I ran into my mom’s car, my eyes filled. My voice was choked up from trying not to cry, but I managed to say “Why didn’t you tell me I had dyslexia?!?!?!” She frowned and sat still.
“The doctor only told us before the battle. Your father and I didn’t want to tell you because we thought you would lose confidence for the battle.”
I thought about this whole dyslexia thing and whether or not I was going to tell Susan I wanted to drop out. But I couldn’t and there were many reasons. Mainly because I have worked so hard. And the battle was tomorrow. I went to bed and was nervous for the battle.
I woke up and did my daily routine. Time for the battle! Susan handed me my wand. I went to the dungeon and entered. It was pretty easy because only 10 monsters came at once. I shot each one of them. Blood oozed out of their body. Then the next set of monsters came. Two of them tackled me. I managed to get them off and kill them, though I had bleeding scratches all over my face. And bruises. Finally they died. Battle over. But I was taken to the hospital because after I killed the last monster it tipped over and fell on me. I came out of the E.R with a broken arm. But I’m not upset. Because I learned an important lesson during the battle and its training. I learnt that things like dyslexia shouldn’t stop you from doing anything. I learnt how to face problems. And I saved the world.
